The Symposium “Tocatì. A shared heritage”, in line with the themes of the World Tourism Event (WTE) which takes place this year in Verona, explores the relationship between intangible cultural heritage and sustainable tourism. This is the seventh edition of this moment of strategic reflection on topics of common interest for the candidacy network. In synergy with the annual meeting of AEJeST (European Association of Traditional Games and Sports), the Symposium will also consider the results of the Erasmus + Opportunity project, dedicated to promoting traditional games as a tool for social inclusion and gender equality. Communities and institutions meet in an exceptional place, the Verona Fortified City documentation centre, to present experiences and thoughts from their territories, strengthening the cooperation potential of the Tocatì network.
Since 2016, “Tocatì, a shared heritage” has brought together in Verona institutions and communities of the multinational nomination partnership of Tocatì for inclusion on the Register of Good Practices for the Protection of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, the technical-scientific coordination of which is the responsibility of Italy – Service II-UNESCO Office of the General Secretariat of the MiC. It is flanked by the institutions of Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia and France.
