From the Middle Ages until about sixty years ago, the game of Kegeln was played mainly in restaurants and at convivial parties. Since 1961 this game, which reminds one of a wooden bowling alley, has been revised and is now played in different variations, both individually and in groups, with the score always determined by the number of pins knocked down.
