In 2001, a hundred delegates from different organizations decided to create the European Association of Traditional Games and Sports (AEJeST). The initiative developed from several scientific meetings and traditional game festivals at international level: the aim of the founding members was to create a network that connected the various European institutions that are active in the world of traditional games and sports, such as educational institutions, federations, sports and cultural associations, museums and game enthusiasts. Today, as then, the intention is to support each other and create network and this is why AEJeST holds its annual meeting in Verona, recognizing Tocatì and AGA as a great ally for the protection of traditional games and sports in Europe and in the world.
