With its activities of revival of the Veronese traditional game S-cianco, ever since the beginning of its story AGA (“Ancient Games Association”) was always projected into a dimension of interaction with other communities of players, on a regional, national and international level.
In 2007, its adhesion to the European Association AEJeST marks the beginning of a long journey.
In 2014, during the Ninth Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of the States who ratified the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, AGA represents AEJeST at UNESCO.
These international appointments are meetings between governmental delegations, researchers and experts, associations of the civilian society. As a matter of fact, NGOs – Non-Governmental Organizations – often represent those cultural communities who incarnate the precious diversity heritage to hand down to future generations.
UNESCO created mechanisms of recognition and inclusion of NGOs in the great pipeline of cultural heritage.
AGA’s tale, its fervent associative activities, the welcoming of diversity in ludic practices and the passion that are expressed in the Festival Tocatì amaze for their correspondence to the spirit of UNESCO’s Convention. In Paris, in 2014, from the interaction between NGOs came the idea of proposing Tocatì for the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices. It was the beginning of a long journey and of a new season of meetings.
