THE INN OF GAMES // L’osteria del Gioco

Via San Giacomo alla Pigna
Friday from 6.00 PM to 10.30 PM
Saturday from 11.00 AM to 11.00 PM
Sunday from 11.00 AM to 8.00 PM

An open-sky inn, where you can taste the territory’s wines and local specialties like “polenta con soppressa” (polenta with garlic-tasting pork sausage), the Monte Veronese cheese, trout or peppers, everything from Veronese farms and holiday farms. L’Osteria del Gioco is held at the courtyard of the deconsecrated church of San Giacomo alla Pigna. The place, managed by the AGA volunteers during the Festival, is rendered even more picturesque by the pictures of period Veronese inns, from the Garda Lake and from Lessinia (P. Breanza Collection), which are hung on the walls.

LUDIC DAIRY // Latteria Ludica
Bread, butter and reading

Cortile della Biblioteca Civica – Entrata da Via dietro S. Sebastian, 2
Saturday from 9.30 AM to 8.00 PM
Sunday from 9.00 AM to 8.00 PM

A meeting place characterized by a welcoming spirit and familiarity. In the 1950s and 1960s dairies were the classic meeting places in cities in the North of the Country, an alternative to the better-known pubs: in dairies people could consume products destined to the youngest, or buy milk, yoghurt and ice-creams, but they could also socialize. This year as well the Ludic Dairy will be revived in one of the urban courts, thanks to Associazione Giochi Antichi (lit. “Ancient Games Association”) and to the Municipality of Verona. You’ll find dairy and confectionery products from the Veronese territory and slow food facilities.
