Steps
Three years to found the nomination process, build the national and international partnerships, identify and define measures to safeguard ludic heritage to share with partners, organize moments of education and sharing of experiences, formalize the Italian network of ludic communities and propose Tocatì to the Intergovernmental Committee as a programme, project or activity that reflects the principles and objectives of the Convention.
In 2016, the first international seminar Tocatì, a shared heritage marked the beginning of the nomination process. The process’s launch was sealed by the Organization’s support, accompanied by a letter by Director-General Irina Bokova.
We established, for the Festival’s communications plan, a triad of key words for the three years of dossier preparation and process start-up.
2017: Community/Belonging/Interaction
2018: Territory/Comparison/Heritage
2019: Safeguarding/Evolution/Commitment
With its nomination, Tocatì gains credit on a national and international level, establishes a stronger dialogue with the Institutions and commits to put its experience at the disposal of the movement of Traditional Games and Sports and other ludic communities, strengthening its calling as “community of communities”. It offers to be a workshop of practices for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage, contributing directly to the Convention’s implementation.

An important milestone for the nomination project is the round table Tocatì. A shared heritage, held in 2016 within the XIV edition of the Festival.

A second successful appointment took place during the XV edition of the Festival, whose program is available in Italian and English.
